The Health and Nutrition Association of Trinidad and Tobago (HNATT) About HNATT The Health and Nutrition Association of Trinidad and Tobago (HNATT) is a leading organization committed to improving the health and well-being of individuals and communities across Trinidad and Tobago.
HNATT was launched on November the 9th 2024 at Skinner’s Park San Fernando. Founded with the mission of promoting healthier lifestyles, providing essential health education, and advocating for the importance of balanced nutrition, we strive to be a trusted resource in the areas of wellness, public health, and nutrition.
HNATT works in collaboration with various stakeholders, including government bodies, healthcare providers, educational institutions, and corporate organizations, to implement initiatives that drive positive health outcomes.
Our team consists of dedicated professionals, including registered dietitians, health educators, and medical experts, who are passionate about empowering individuals to make informed decisions about their health and diet.
Through a wide range of programs, events, and services, we aim to address prevalent health issues such as obesity, chronic diseases (including diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases), malnutrition, and lifestyle-related health conditions.
Our goal is to provide access to evidence-based information, resources, and expert guidance that help people adopt sustainable, long-term changes for better physical, mental, and emotional health.
Our mission is to empower individuals and communities to embrace healthy lifestyles by providing evidence-based information, innovative programs, and supportive environments that promote well-being across the lifespan. We aspire to encourage persons to lead a healthier life and by this we can contribute to decreasing the prevalence of chronic diseases and misinformation in our country and by extension the wider Caribbean
We aspire to achieve the following:

to improve public health nutrition by promoting healthy eating, preventing disease, and promoting well-being

raise awareness about the importance of nutrition for health

to advocate for laws and regulations that advance public health, and for funding for critical public health programs
Conflict of Interest Policy: The association upholds high ethical standards and promotes public interest in its research and advocacy work on food and nutrition. It aims to manage and eliminate conflicts of interest and maintains a strict policy against engagement with industries that produce or promote products harmful to public health.
